This is rough timeline I made where I visualized water being actually used as a currency in the future as water becomes very scarce. The idea is that the coins are like little petri-dishes that actually hold water. I was thinking on how historically coins used to be stamped by precious metal. Instead, the most precious commodity is water. Rather than the Gold Standard, the default currency and standard being water itself.
